Lyndsey M. HerrmanPresident. Lyndsey earned her B.A. from Kansas State University in Family Studies and Human Services: Lifespan Development. In 1999 she founded CEUOutlet, a continuing education organization that provides CEU's to Psychologist's, Social Workers, and other mental health professionals and clinicians. She has earned her way to be respected by professionals as well as state governing regulatory bodies for excelling in CEU compliance.  In 2009, CEU Outlet expanded into International Institute of Education Standards.  She has developed IIES CEU program standards to assist State Licensing Boards and National Certifying Boards including standards for internet based CEU learning modules. IIES is a certifying body that works in partnership with world wide organizations to offer certifications and certificate programs that meet industry standards to assure competency in the workplace.

Dr. Kaplan has spent many years collaborating with the non-profit community. He worked on many projects over a ten year period with the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association. In the summer of 2005, Special Abilities evolved into US Autism & Asperger Association, Inc. with a mission to enhance the quality of life of individuals and their families/caregivers touched by autism spectrum disorders by providing educational and family support through conferences/seminars and published and electronic mediums. Dr. Kaplan’s vision was to create an annual conference that concentrated on family, health and sibling issues, adolescence, diet and nutrition, autism and Asperger’s concerns, as well as the latest autism research and treatment.  That vision became a reality in the summer of 2006.  Nomita Pothuluri, M.D.
Nomita is a Family Practice physician who graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 1998 and completed her residency from the UAMS Area Health Education Center in 2001. Upon graduation she moved to Kingwood, Texas and has been practicing Family Medicine in various clinics in the region.  


Brandy L. Chaneb, Ph.D., Bandy is a Licensed Psychologist and mother to a child with autism. 

Marilyn Kaff, Ph.D., Kansas State University, Associate Professor Special Education, Counseling and Student Affairs. Marilyn is over the Autism Certificate Program offered at Kansas State University for students with a M.S. degree in Special Education.     


  Komalam Jairaj, Ph.D., R.D.
Komalam Jairaj, Ph.D., R.D., has a Ph.D. in Nutrition from Kansas State University and is a Registered Dietitian with a Texas License. She was a co-founder of Clinic for Autism.    

Bernie Hayden
Bernie Hayen, MBA, MPA, Corporate Business and Ethics Advisor.  Bernie is a national corporate trainer and founder of the Ethics Classroom. The Ethics Classroom's purpose is to provide a broad range of information related to ethics and social responsibility. He is a professor at Kansas State University in the College of Business Administration and Director of Finance for the city of Manhattan, KS.  http://www.ethicsclassroom.info/


Betty McDowell, LSW, Heartbeat International
Betty is a licensed social worker who has been an education advisor with Heartbeat International. She teaches a worldwide program titled "The LOVE Approach". Betty, brings to life what volunteers need to know when they begin helping in a life-affirming organization. She presents on how to be powerful in practice, effective and compassionate. Her outreach equips new volunteers and trainers of new volunteers.   


Melissa Gossard, NCC, Community Leadership Advisor. Melissa earned her BS from MSU and her Master's from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is a National Certified Counslor who works in the public school system and presents training educational programs to school personnel.  Her passion is teaching life skills to youth, exspecially those at-risk wthin the community.  


Barbara Hantsbarger, Adjunct Professor Missouri Baptist University
Barbara has her M.A in Special Education. She developed an MBU On-line training module and is also a consultant in the area of behavior therapy for First Steps Pediatrics, LLC. 


Kat Houghton, International Research Advisor
is founder and president of relate to autism. Kat has worked intensively with over 800 families with autism and has lead group workshops in the US, Brazil and The Netherlands.
She is actively involved in autism treatment research and working towards bridging the gap between current research and clinical practice. She received her BSc Honors Psychology from the University of Edinburgh in 1993. She has been working with children and training parents to use relationship-based approaches to autism since 2000. She plans to receive her Doctorate in Psychology from Lancaster University in 2012. We value her research and knowledge that she can bring on both national and international levels. 
 


Karen Romero, LMSW
Karen has been assisting in conference planning and CEU course development since 2003.  


 Bonnie Kaye, AEP
Artistic Director, Bonnie Kaye is especially important to our team. Her theater school is an important reminder of practicing sensory motor skills through play. Bonnie has been in business in the Performing Arts field for over 37 years offering classes for all ages in an array of the arts.  She continues to expand her program in the Twin Cities area and has put together a phenomenal staff of highly gifted teachers.  In the Company of Kids still remains the first social skills theater, dance arts center providing a wonderful safe enviroment for all children to experience the arts. 

 

 

Rachel Sterbenz, Event Advisor. Rachel worked for Harvard Medical School (HMS) in the Events Department of the Office of Resource Development. She has experience hosting multifaceted events for guests from all over the world. Rachel has worked for the Office of the Attorney General in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Human Resources Department.
